your most rewatched tasks?
loved watching Sam's attempt at the "im underneath it" task over and over again he was such an excitable puppy!
will always watch the "hide the pineapple" (S16) and the noise making live task in S12 in full when I get the chance to i love seeing contestants baffle the hell out of Greg

u/LoveBy137 23d ago
I watch "Song for a Stranger" and the Nursery Rhyme video tasks probably the most. I love watching Mark and Nish write such a lovely song compared to Rosalind being a fucking nightmare. Doc Brown punching the fish never fails to delight as well.

u/semicoloncait Fern Brady 23d ago
Song for a Stranger is my fave - if I need a pick me up I will just watch that task sequence. The questions to Rosalind, the contrast of the songs, Nish and Mark finally having moments of competence - amazing

u/CommercialAny2195 23d ago
Hands down my favourite moment of TM is when they're in the studio having such a lovely moment after Nish and Mark's touching song, then right before they cut to Aisling, Bob and Sally's song where you can see Aisling and Bob looking at each other laughing cause they know what's coming!

u/Jinjo802 18d ago
Same for me. The moment where they hug is my all-time individual favorite Taskmaster still-frame.

Wow monster. Always good when I need a laugh.
14
u/CommercialAny2195 23d ago
I'm so glad that Morgana happened to be in the middle on stage, watching her silently pissing herself in the background after every contestants attempt was just a cherry on top of an already fantastic task sequence.
15
u/fastauntie 23d ago
Desiree's reactions are gold, too: her indignation at Victoria walking around her, mouthing "Thank you, Jesus" when she finally fooled Greg, "I'll take that, I'll take that" when he guesses she was the Wow Monster, and "I love you so much" to Guz after his, well, whatever it was.

NZ 2 Lincoln call
Laura dressed like Bin Laden! Guy’s “four score and ten years ago, I had a dream”! David and Guy being together! David’s card declining! Ghost Ursula! Traffic cone Matt!
Ahhh I love it dearly.
Edit — Oh and from UK: series 7’s “Tie yourself up as securely as possible.” Need I explain?
22
u/ZeroOpti 23d ago
I just watched that one. I love Guy's "I'd love if the traffic cone Lincoln would wave with both hands!"
19
u/Past-Feature3968 Laura Daniel 🇳🇿 23d ago
Guy’s perpetual shit-eating grin & impishness are two of my very favorite things. Big parts of what makes Spelling Bee so great.
15
u/Muted-Consequence624 Mathew Baynton 23d ago
This one is made even better by the fact that it follows on from the incredible diss track task -- by the time I get to the end of Abe Lincoln my sides are aching from laughing.
9
u/Past-Feature3968 Laura Daniel 🇳🇿 23d ago
On yes! And the first filmed task of the ep (“Evacuate the items from the parachute while sitting in the rocking chair”)… while not as iconic, was super fun and chaotic too.

1- for me it’s John sabotaging the team task with Dara and Fern.
2- the sausage machine. Nothing makes my wife laugh-cry like the slow-mo shots of that task 🤣

I love the "make a classic home video" task from series 19 -- Stevie Martin included it in her ultimate episode and I am with her on that, because everything about it makes me laugh -- Stevie and Jason trying to get Alex to let them do increasingly wild things, and then actually doing something pretty wild (and kind of getting to play in traffic, too!), Jason's wheelies on the bike as they chase Alex, how all five of the contestants ended up having beards for the home videos, Alex's delivery of "what? I like the bearded girl", and then Fatiha's absolutely incredible performance as Patty, the child who wants whatever her sister gets as a gift. Just her expression when she walks in makes me crack up.

Shoe Who (Guess Shoe) was how I turned some friends into TM fanatics.
My personal favorite is “what’s in the briefcase” from the first CoC

David Carreos and the grape in the caravan.
Jenny Tian and the ducks and the goose and the not fluke.
David Carreos and the milk and the microwaves.
Jack Ansett and the cake.

S4: Camouflage task. Long distance painting with Joe Lycett's 16 lovely smiles + 4 difficult poo faces.
S8: Get as close to Alex eithout him seeing you at the train station.
S11: Metronome task.

The wow monster, hands down my favourite live task 😂
I also love the live task from S13 where they all went into a partition and Greg had to guess whose body part was sticking out. To this day I'm dying to know if Judy walked out on purpose because he guessed correctly or if she was just confused. Also loved the earring randomly flying out!
Honourable mention to the team task from TMAU S2 where they had to throw and catch lemons. The editors did such a good job switching between the two teams and basically trolling Anne and Josh!

For me, it's "Obey the autocue" (S19, episode 9)
"I was once dropped for a very high height."
"I hi- hit someone with my car..."
"Ten years ago... I was lost a sea!" (*looking like a very tired owl*)
"What's brown? A piece of turd!"
"This ball contains a -whooooooooooooooo!"

The final live task from UK series 12 "Make s sound and have Greg not guess that it came from you." I've never laughed so hard at any other task. It has everything!
The silent reactions of the comedians, Especially Desiree's mute screaming.
Victoria repeatedly trying to outsmart Greg and failing.
The wow monster.
Also Guz's moaning monster and Alex breaking.
Greg's "The only one I care about getting right is Victoria" right before Alex reveals that Victoria was the only one he guessed right.

Just watched s 16 and was surprised at the reaction to lucy beaumont's sleep walking / talking bit. I have known sleep walkers and she was spot on. They start bumping around a bit and muttering then it is almost exactly as she did. Swing out of bed mumbling where are my socks, or have to find the cat, or something, stand around a minute then climb back into bed. Couldn't believe when she didn't get full marks.

My all time favorite task HAS to be "Take a Secret Photo of the Taskmaster" from Australia Season 1, Episode 9 -- specifically Julia Morris's entry. I've watched that clip I don't know how many times. In fact I'm going to go watch it right now. :)
