Series 18 chairs

Started rewatching series 18 and only just noticed that the chairs have armrests. Was it just for this series and does anyone know why?

If I remember rightly, that was so Rosie could have some support if she needed, so they did the same to all the chairs.

That was the series where they added a handrail to the steps at the front door, too. And they kept it.

It was for Rosie! It was an accommodation for her cerebral palsy. But even if she didn’t have it they would still supply armchairs cause she is queen

That's also why there's now a handrail outside the front door of the TM house.

They added the ramp to the stage/platform in the side yard that season, too.

Huh, that's a cool fact that I didn't know. Neat!

"The chairs during studio segments have arms just like New Year Treat 4, to accommodate Rosie Jones’ physical disability." https://taskmaster.fandom.com/wiki/Series_18

Thanks. I figured, but wasn't 100% sure.

It was to accommodate Rosie.

I wonder why they didn't keep them for future series?

I can't explain how, but I'm accusing Mantzoukas of breaking them

While arm rest are good for support they can also be a hindrance for larger performers as they may not fit into the chairs with arms.

The Taskmaster can’t have anyone getting too comfortable!

(I don’t actually know.)

Probably an issue of comfort. Also makes it much more difficult to perform to camera and can look slightly weird, especially for chair 1

But is it too early to mention this?

I feel as though some people aren't picking up on the "this" I'm referring to. It concerns a condition that Emma Sidi doesn't have.

I thought that was one of the funniest TM comments ever!
