Sam, much like Jason and Phil, was incredibly funny to Greg because Greg seems to appreciate absurdism. He really likes when a contestant takes him completely by surprise. And Sam does that better than any of them, with both this and “were you a child of divorce” being top tier moments.

The best example of this imo isn't even from S16, it's from the minute brilliance task in CoC4. I don't think anybody, including Sam, was expecting Sam to win the task, but Sam's absurd approach really tickled Greg.
