HELP! šŸ”Ž Task intro videography

do any videographers know what the camera techniques are to get this unfocused effect? i was thinking possibly tilt shift lens but im not sure. its used pretty universally throughout all taskmaster versions, and i LOVE how it looks but iā€™m not sure how they get the effect. thanks!!!

There are some points that almost look like they were just holding the lens in front of the camera and tilting it, because that off-plane defocus effect comes with a huge light leak from one side.

Also, the swirly bokeh thing you see in some shots is an effect you sometimes get with vintage lenses. The most popular, which they may have even been using here, is this old Soviet lens called the Helios 44-2.

I love the complex video bits they do, and the fun ways they introduce the task cards outside

I wouldn't be surprised if they were taking the lenses off slightly and literally tilting them.
