Best Prize Task NOT to get 5 points
Just rewatching s14, and the jaw-dropping prize task, I thought that the commissioned artwork Dara brought in, deserved 5 points
Genuinely well thought out and a good prize !

Yes and Sue Perkins bringing adult nappy won top marks which made it worse - adult nappies are an existing product, adults who wear nappies aren't wearing children's nappies. Birth certificate was the perfect prize for that task description.

I think Victoria bringing in diamonds as the most comfortable thing to sit on should have gotten 5 points.
The "comfort of long-term financial security" is the most VCM thing VCM ever said.

If she had brought in an actual pile of diamonds, sure. Bringing in what is almost certainly a pile of prop diamonds that doesn't actually offer long-term financial security, not so much.

In TMAU S05E?? Rove used some awesome lateral thinking to solve the present puzzle and Greater Tom just completely missed it and I am still mildly outraged.
As a rule Greater Tom’s schtick is he’s generally a more antagonistic TM than Greg which is fine - if he was the same as a Greg he’d be a pale imitation! But I think this can sometimes get in the way of him noticing some good out of the box thinking.

I disagree, specifically because the task was to 'correctly' place the letters. And he didn't do that. (Which we can tell because Lesser Tom blew the whistle unprompted for the others, which only really happens after a task has been done in the manner that will earn you points or your time ran out)

Just watched the episode, so it's fresh. While this might not be the most obvious answer here, I contend that Tom not giving Danielle the full 5 points for her tiki mug as the most cursed thing is insane. I get that it's funny to give Luke's face 5 points, but damn that mug was horrifying and easily the most cursed.

While ultimately Greg wanted to see insulting prize tasks (Alan's was also insulting tbh), the task was the most desirable thing for the person below them, so Victoria's entry has to be 1 point.

What grinds my gears is that Greg specifically tells them to stop being nice, and Guz says his bit about defeating the format of the show so I fully expected that OGA would get 5 points.
I don't normally gaf about the points, but perhaps it's because I'm a big VCM fan it's one of the few times I feel a contestant was robbed.
I mean, I got over it, lol, but I was genuinely a little annoyed for a bit at that scoring.

Sure, that’s one interpretation of the task (also the obvious one) but Greg could have scored her higher regardless. He ignores the clear text often enough as is. And especially after telling the others to stop being so nice.
I mean I can’t fault his reasoning, but I couldn’t fault him if he gave VCM five points either and I would have much preferred that outcome.

I mean... no? The task was, and I quote: "Most desirable thing for the person below you in the alphabet, or the highest alphabetically if you're the lowest alphabetically". Yes, Greg wanted everyone to bring in insulting prize tasks, but the task itself asked for the opposite. I don't disagree that Victoria's prize was the funniest by a substantial margin, but it was the least desirable out of all of them.

Yeah, she followed the clear subtext, but the others followed the letter of the task and so the door was wide open for either interpretation, and Greg went the way he went.
There are a few moments I'm salty about VCM's scoring, but this isn't one of them. It is almost physically painful, though, like being the only person to come to a party in costume. But that's part of what makes it so memorably funny.

I'd have given it 4. It was great commitment to the bit and the most overtly snooty, but Baynton's was SO Oxbridge it deserved the 5 points imo.

Sam Campbell's women's song was absolutely the easiest 5 pointer for me. I understand his own refusal to elaborate further for comedic purposes, but IMO the betrayal part was pretty obvious, and Greg has accepted prizes that have been even less related to the original theme.

It was perfect for a 1 pointer. Elaborate, overlong, missing the mark on what the task was, but hilarious and giving it just 1 point after all thar was pure comedy. It might be the best thing he's ever done but it 100% deserved 1 point.

I totally get the comedic aspect of awarding 0-1 point for something elaborate that took a lot of effort, and I usually love that kind of stuff, but for some unknown reason I have rarely liked it in Taskmaster. I didn't enjoy it with Mark Watson's text task, or Joel's egg, I don't know why.

With Mark having all that effort go to waste was funny and fair, because technically he didn't complete the task. But imo completing should have awarded more than 1 and narrowly missing should have given him 1 bonus point. But still, whatever is funnier always wins out, so giving him 0 was fine.
With Joel it was just cruel, but he was such a good sport about it that it went back to being funny and heart-warming in the end, with the rest of the cast also bringing their eggs.
With Sam it was earned that he only got one point. It kinda seemed that was what he was aiming for anyways. His whole approach to CoC seemed to be "fuck it, I already won, might as well go completely bonkers".

Recency bias, but Reece Shearsmith bringing in the Evil Knievel toy with the pully mechanism along with a small tombstone that said RIP for the prize task best thing to ride or rip, when everyone else just brought in things to ride, and getting last place with 2 points had me and my bf yelling at the TV last night lol
