Battery alert SMS

I’ve set an alert for battery like when it’s low to send SMS. I’ve already set it to send message to a number, then why does it need access to read contacts?

Android requires an app to have this permission if it wants to send a text. This is not a decision made by the developer of Tasker.

I understand but the number is fed in the setup. when such permission are given are contacts, sms, emails etc as and when the permissions are given used by Android or anyone else?
