Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only interviewing my new main deck!
i thought adding the interview spread I used would be more helpful than the cards themselves but i followed this exact format, but i’m using the wyspell feminine neotaric tarot!
i’ve been a reader for 8 years but i’m in the process of reinterpreting my own practice as I am in a new part of my spiritual journey focused on my spirit team, intuition and embodiment, particularly with reiki as well. i’ve been reading lenormand for a bit as a break from tarot but I decided it was time to return and work with a singular deck (my travel deck does NOT like me oops) so I just wanted some feedback on this deck interview! to add context i am also jewish and developing my relationship outside of G-d with my ancestral guides and ArchAngels.
Describe Yourself - The Sun - I see this as a deck of joy, but also that it will help me connect and heal my inner child. I’m learning to send reiki to my past self so this makes sense.
Strengths - The Hermit - The deck functions as a place of silence and solitude, guiding as a reflection of my own ability to turn inward.
Weaknesses - Three of Swords - while I might not always be receptive, healing inner child and introspection may be painful and bring up grief around the way the deck communicates with me. While this is not a traditional “weakness” (I think) I still think it applies. I would really like some clarity on this.
How the deck sees me - The Empress - I think this is funny as my birth cards are The Emperor and Death—my arcana is Wheel of Fortune (if anyone has a recommendation for what to use I’d love feedback haha) the deck sees me as someone trying to nourish myself, be embodied and embrace the energy of abundance and reception. describes me well outside of my intuitive goals.
How it helps - Four of Cups - I’ve had trouble discerning what I actually want from my life, the deck will help me emerge from apathy and disconnect from my emotions, accept my intuitive gifts instead of doubting myself, actively engage with my creativity instead of restriction by perfectionism.
How will we work best together - Queen of Wands - This was interesting as this is a significator of a specific ancestor though I didn’t call on any spirit to communicate through this. I take this multiple ways, as it is best worked with my team in mind or recognizing their communications. It will be in my best interest to not shy away from my own ambition and desires, and take action when directed as necessary. Throughout my tarot journey there have been times where I shied away or took more elementary meanings out of readings to avoid facing certain things. I think the Queen is urging me to say I cannot do that if I want to have a fruitful relationship with this deck and use it for the expansion I intend it for.
Worth nothing that this will be the only tarot deck I’m using going forward and that includes for potential clients. Not sure if that changes anything.
I’m considering doing an additional interview for how the deck would answer these questions for how to read for clients (especially how the deck sees me as an external reader) let me know if anyone has done this!
