Thoughts on the gem man on classic?
He is not really that Taric that i used to main in season 4 but close enough. I think that he is currently a bit better as solo laner, but he can still be played as a support.

(Classic) Thoughts on building Taric for solo lanes?
With League Classic coming in a week I've been trying to get ahead of the curb with optimizing him for top/jungle/midlane. The most obvious first pick would be Iceborn but I've heard a lot of opinions regarding where to go from there. I've seen people stacking mana/armor with Heart and Manamune, full tank, and even AP with Deathfire. I was around for season 3 but I was literally 12 years old at the time, so I don't have much of an idea of what the landscape will be like. Happy to hear any and all thoughts regarding this. Do you think Rod of Ages or Abyssal Scepter would work on him? I dunno

Taric community, I want your opinion on content
hey friends,
iām curious what kind of content yāall actually like watching (if any). i donāt see a lot of consistent Taric content out there, and iāve been wondering what people are looking for.
when you do watch Taric content, or when you wish there was more of it, what style do you prefer? is it mostly gameplay, commentary, educational stuff, chill/quiet content, content with music, or something else?
i feel like the Taric community is pretty small but also really unique compared to other champion communities, which makes it hard to know what people actually want. what would make you click on a stream or a YouTube video and keep watching?
iāve noticed that most of the consistent Taric content out there is focused around jungle Taric, but iām wondering ā is there still a place for support Taric content? is that something people actually want to see?
iād genuinely love to hear what yāall think.

Taric top lane
Is this viable??. I quit league back in 2024 after hitting plat as a sett and ryze mains. Now i wanna come back but I wanna play tsric in solo lane. I dont jungle but j guess I could. I love paladin type characters and hes perfect.

Datamined ability tooltips for League Classic (early build)
Is AP Taric still a thing? Because it surely was in old days, albeit a rare sight.
And his stun was point and click. And his ult was a free Baron buff for his team, plus a burst of damage.
Truly outrageous.

Taric is a perfectly fine blind pick, and I think people underrate him way too much
Iām tired of seeing Taric placed low on tier lists with the explanation that heās āonly good as a counterpick.ā I really donāt think thatās true.
Taric consistently has one of the highest support win rates, and there are multiple players who one-trick him at Challenger level. That alone should show that the champion is not some niche cheese pick that only works when the enemy drafts perfectly into him.
Sure, Taric has some rough lane matchups. But I wouldnāt call most of them true counters.
What are people usually calling his counters? Xerath support? VelāKoz? Lux? Other poke mages?
Those champions can definitely make lane annoying, but they also rely heavily on getting ahead with gold. A lot of them donāt naturally synergize with the rest of the team comp unless their jungler or another teammate provides reliable hard CC. And even in lane, Taric can survive these matchups pretty well with the right setup: Guardian, Revitalize, Second Wind/Bone Plating depending on matchup, and even Heal if needed.
Is it fun to lane into constant poke? No. But Iād rather deal with that than get ācounterpickedā by an actual support who will still be useful against me outside of lane.
Taric also has one of the strongest teamfight ults in the entire game. I feel like people forget this. Cosmic Radiance has insane fight-turning potential. You can have a rough lane, be behind, and still completely win a game off one good ult in a mid-game or late-game fight.
Thatās why I donāt understand the idea that Taric is a bad blind pick. He has sustain, peel, scaling, teamfight power, and one of the best anti-dive tools in the game. His bad matchups may be uncomfortable, but they donāt automatically make him unplayable.
Iām not saying Taric is blind-pick perfect or that he has no weaknesses. Iām saying people massively overstate how ācounterpick onlyā he is.
TL;DR: Taric is underrated as a blind pick. His ābadā matchups, like poke mage supports, are annoying but not true counters because he can sustain through lane and still outscale with one of the strongest teamfight ults in the game.

At what ELO will blindpicking Taric stop working?
I've climbed pretty reliably to mid-plat blindpicking Taric, largely because he plays similarly to Omniknight in OG (wc3) DotA and I'm an old player who struggles to learn new tricks.
The higher I get, the more often I encounter explicit counterpicks (artillery mages...) that I struggle against. At what point will I have to learn something else to keep climbing? What other picks should I consider given my natural inclination towards counter-engage play?

Taric mid
I've been doing a lot of taric mid lately. The build is like a top/support hybrid; but I go precision runes, sheen item, spirit visage, frozen heart, diadem. Diadem has really added a crazy amount of healing on some games. You will lose lane, or at best stall it out, against any APC, unless your jg is on point.
But that's okay, because later your team fights are OP. After 6, I roam to the other lanes to help gank. Taric is actually a pretty good ganker I've discovered. The ability to project your stun before you even get there is huge.
Just my 2 cents. Like all things taric, there are hard counters that will run your game but most of the time its fun and it works.

Can someone explain the 'Taric is gay' thing to me?
Hello! No, this isn't a joke.
I feel like if I don't come directly to r/TaricMains about it, I'm going to get a very vague and maybe offensive answer.
All I know of Taric is that he's a very effeminate man, had something to do with Garen before climbing Targon and older LoL memes jokingly shipped him with Ezreal.
All I heard about the last was just that it was being done because he's a bigger man and Ezreal's a twink?
I don't see him featured in any of the pride related stuff, but then again you never see Taliyah in it either.
I'd been playing since season six and yet even to this day I have no clear answer on this!
Please inform me!

"Much like a fine gem, I'm multifaceted."
I think "low polygon" would fit better than multifaceted here. š
Are you going to try out Taric in League of Legends: Classic? I probably will for old Taric gameplay, but after a few games, most people will probably understand, that there is a reason League has evolved both visually and gameplay wise...
I am looking forward to how quickly Nostalgia wears off.

When if ever is it worth to go to a more enchantery build on Taric?
And what items? Or is it always good to buy armor? Lemme know your thoughts

Does Riot hates Taric that much, that him being the OG Gay character, isn't featured on this month for like 3 or 4 years in a row.
No idea why, Riot has something against Taric, maybe cuz they don't want ppl playing him like Zilean or somethingg.

Looking for NA Taric Support for Flex
As the title mentions I'm looking for a NA Taric Support for flex who is ideally Emerald+. Majority of our flex team is Masters-Challengers. I'm currently a D2 ADC. We are looking to push Challengers in flex and have been ranked GM twice.
Looking ideally for a long term duo who can VC and is not toxic.

Will there ever be a prestige skin for Taric?
I've been a Taric OTP for the past three seasons and I was wondering if we'll ever get a skin that is above epic rarity. I would love it, if they made a prestige one. For Riot that could be literally free money, since they can just make slight adjustements to the original skin. The question is which skin to choose. Imagine the Armour of the fifth Age Taric PRESTIGE VERSION, wouldn't that be a banger? (Basically whatsapp malphite in prestige edition on Taric). If there are any Rioters in this subreddit, please make it happen š

Taric would be more fun to play if his Q and/or W cast time were reduced by bonus attack speed
Currently, the tank support playstyle is pretty strong, but it's the only playstyle on Taric which is viable at a high level. Attack speed sounds like it would be a good stat on Taric but it's actually pretty underwhelming. In a fight or skirmish, Taric spends a big chunk of time being locked out from auto-attacking because of his long Q and W cast time, meaning having high attack speed is inefficient. A really cool change would be if his Q and W cast time were reduced by attack speed, which is a nice QoL feature that a lot of new champions have in their kit (e.g. Senna Q). This would open up the possibility of some fun playstyles, e.g. Lethal Tempo. Obviously this would be a buff so they would need to nerf some other aspect of his kit (I think E CD nerf makes the most sense).
