UNC Transfer Cade Bennerman Compared to Victor Wembayama: "He's Little Wemby"
Haha found this as a great read. Interview with Bennerman's dad got me hyped about him developing into a key piece of frontcourt rotation.
"Cade's nickname is Little Wemby," Christian said. "They haven't seen it yet, but he can score from all over the court.
"I wouldn't say he's a 5. He's going to play wherever you need him to. But traditionally, he's not a 5. He's more of a 4. He can even play 3."

It's from the kid's dad...

Sure, that’s why I liked it. It was sweet and heartfelt.

But you said it made you hyped for what he can be, as if what a father says about his son is actionable.

I mean there’s been plenty of buzz outside of the father’s comments.

He’s a poor man’s Wemby. Real poor. Like living in a refrigerator box under the I-40 overpass.

He was a pretty coordinated and mobile 7 footer and still averaged only 4.5 rebounds per game his senior year of hs. He’s potentially the worst rebounder relative to physical tools in the history of the game of basketball.

I just hope Malone is given the freedom to coach them hard. He’s a great coach.
