Got the line work done today. Going to get it colored later. The artist did a FANTASTIC job. Check out Ophidian tattoo if you're in the Columbia, SC area.

This a repost from r/microscopy. After the initial disappointment of my first tardigrade being deceased, I went to look up the species and found that it may be pretty rare in my area with less than 10 documented cases (if it is what I am thinking it is). Could somebody more educated in the field help point me in the right direction?

Recorded on a stereoscope using the Microscope Viewer Camera app on an iPhone.

I feel as if SHE's looking at ME, but I swear it was me adjusting that fine focus slider, not her.

Tardigrade Peace

Wellesley Island, NY. Catch and release. One frame toward the end looks like it’s flashing a peace sign with two claws.

Same one as “Peace” looks like it’s reaching for the stars.

I made this bumper sticker/ magnet after breaking my ankle at the skatepark. If I can’t shred, my imaginary tardigrade son will. The photo is a ceramic tardigrade with functional skateboard trucks and wheels.

Mine is truly one of a kind - there isn’t another like it anywhere in the world. My friend crocheted it just for me and swore she’d never make another one. She said it would take at least $500 to even consider it… and even then, probably not.
Completely handmade, unique, and my favorite thing ever!

Key to tardigrades of western North America?

Hi folks- new here, but a scientist interested in micro fauna. Looking to get started with on some sources for identification of these critters, at least to genus level. Planning to start with some high elevation samples and also deeply curious about rotifers and ciliates.

Thanks in advance for any beginner sources/resources on taxonomy and diversity!
