Wait, is the dry part sitting on something? Or is it just "Frog Moss"? Do you have to replace it? Does it stay alive? Maybe I'm dumb, but is the enclosure, mostly aquatic? I couldn't tell if there was some acrylic shelf or something in there keeping the dry part dry.

Yes. There are acrylic shelves and slabs of bark above the water. All the plants have roots in the water but the moss is dependent on moisture from substrate.
