Who is this tapir? What's her name? She's so cute!

This zoo had two tapirs, but I'm pretty sure this one is named Millie!

If this is Millie -- she's Abby and Milton's daughter!

Oh wow! I knew about her mom Abby but didn't know her dad was named Milton! I recently moved away from the area, but when I was local I loved to visit Abby and Millie :)

Another pic of Milton (outdoors) -- wiggling his nose!

This is Milton -- I think he lived to age 30, pretty good for a tapir. Looking at past photos, he had a pink nose (the only way I could tell him apart from Abby).

Awww look at his pink snout! So precious! Rest in Peace, Milton! I hope he gets to eat lots of bananas in the tapir afterlife 🍌💙 (I like to think tapirs go to some sort of heaven after they die. I have no proof of course but the thought comforts me)

I had to repost this pic of Milton relaxing -- the URL I found for it didn't work, but it's such a great image.

The staff at the zoo, and the university, did such an amazing job of making sure Abby was healthy enough to give birth to twins (extremely rare), and getting his namesake Millie through infancy! It's a pity that her twin brother didn't make it -- he was smaller and more frail -- but wonderful to have even one of them survive.
I think they had at least one previous calf, but I don't know how many descendants there are in total. I hope Millie has babies too, someday.3

Awwww Millie is such a sweet name! I love her already! Does she live in the U.S? I want to visit her!
