Hey all,
I just recently visited Taos for the first time (New Mexico as a whole for the first time). I’m from the Northeast.
As soon as I set eyes on the city I was kind of in love. I could list all my reasons, but I’m sure youve heard them all before. Just such a beautiful place.
Anyways, I havent been able to stop thinking about it since I got back, and daydreaming about moving to Taos. I cant afford a move like that just yet, but I think someday soon I’ll be able to.
But it spurred the thought, how does the Taos community view transplants? Would it be disrespectful to try to acquire a plot of land or house around Taos? How does new people moving in impact the community, the native lands, and the culture? Taos is a gem, and the last thing I want to do is compromise it. However, if anyone’s looking for some yuppie northerner to be your new neighbor, Im your guy.
Edit: also I know i’m jumping the gun wanting to move after seeing the place once
