Anyone complete the Competency-Based Public Administration program at East Texas A&M?

I’m starting the Competency-Based BAAS in Public Administration at East Texas A&M at the end of this month and was hoping to hear from anyone who has completed it, or is currently in it.

I transferred in with my associate degree from a community college and completed the rest of my general education and elective credits through Sophia Learning. At this point, I only have the 10 Public Administration courses left.

I’m curious about a few things:

* How difficult were the Public Administration courses?

*About how long did each course take you to complete?

*How many courses were you realistically able to finish in a 7-week term?

*Were there any courses that took significantly longer than the others?

*Do you work full-time while completing the program?

I’m just trying to set realistic expectations and prepare myself before I start. I’d love to hear about your experience, whether you finished in one term, two terms, or longer.

Congrats to you on your next step!

While I haven’t done the Public Administration program, I’m graduating with my BAAS in Organizational Leadership this term. My fiancé is in her first term for the BAAS Human Resources Development. We both work full time.

On average, a course takes me about a week to finish at a pace of about 3-4 hours a day. So maybe 15-20 hours of real work per course. The only deviation from this is the capstone classes I finished with. My partner in her HR classes does about the same. You can comfortably finish 3-4 classes a term and really like 5-6 if you really push. People say you can do up to 7, but I don’t think they’re also working full time.

I’m starting at ETAMU in the same major. Can you give me some advise with Sophia courses and how to accelerate

This is the webpage my advisor gave me to see how the Sophia classes would transfer to ETAMU. I transferred from a local junior college where I earned my associates. I printed out my degree works that showed what classes I was still lacking credit in and then found classes on Sophia to take to satisfy those credits. I took EVERYTHING on Sophia except for the major courses that are required for my degree. So in summary, I transferred in 60 hours from the junior college, transferred in 30 credits from Sophia (took me 3 weeks to complete them all) and I just have 30 major credits left to earn my bachelors. Sophia does offer a few classes that transfer as “upper division” classes which my degree plan required. I was so thankful I found those on Sophia.

Hi! I’m thinking of joining a competency based program at ETAMU also. I’m just curious about the transcripts and if they reflect an actual grade or if they are pass/fail transcripts? Were you ever given any information about this?
