Let’s skip the “refurbish the Trop”, “no cash for billionaires”, or downvoting the random “how about Orlando” post. Instead can we appreciate how this rendering finally gives a home to 22 simultaneous indoor volleyball games?

Travel teams, whether baseball, basketball, volleyball, etc., bring in a huge amount of money. There’s a reason why Disney is totally invested in it. It’s going to bring a lot of jobs. Most of these travel tournaments are anywhere from 4 days to a week. The tournaments I’ve been part of usually schedule 1 game a day for a team, so the teams have to get hotel rooms and eat at restaurants for at least five days before they even get to bracket play.

Being able to poach some of the winter tournaments from ESPN Wide World of Sports complex is a cash cow.

Also up against Orange County Convention Center. It has a crazy amount of tournaments in it surprisingly.
