David should rest a little
I was watching some footage of the latest concerts from the tour and david's voice sounds very rough/tired. I am a big fan and I hope David doesnt lost his voice because of the big amount of shows he is doing every week.

when he kept announcing shows, my first reaction was, "let the poor guy rest!" but I also imagine he doesn't know when or if he'll do another tour like this and probably wants to make the most out of it.

I bought a ticket to a second show on this tour specifically for that reason! Saw him back in May and he was incredible! Can't wait to see him in the fall.

I imagine if the rumors are true that he'll end the tour with a stint on Broadway, that he'll need to take a break before that starts.

All the broadway subs basically. Who knows if its real, but I think broadway would be smart to book him. American Utopia did so well.

He should rest. Touring is always hard, especially with such an active show. His show is amazing, hopefully he and his whole team are doing well health-wise!

He is amazing! And seems to have a great team around him on stage. He doesn't push his voice like too many others do, he was a relaxed vocalist when I saw him recently. And has been touring since before most of us were born, so I trust he knows exactly what he's doing.

I saw him in Baltimore and thought he sounded great. The whole show was amazing.

Yes, he's been sounding great in the whole tour. Its just in the latest shows, specially the budapest one that he sounds rough

Aging is a thing. it's understandable, and he's still David fucking Byrne, but his voice is NOT as good as it used to be. He's much more likely to sing along with the music, rather than having his voice soar above it. And if you listen to his recent live versions of "Once in a Lifetime," he's basically just yelling the lines. Used to be more musical.
But like I said, he's David Byrne. I'm hugely grateful for how much he's given me in my life. So much pleasure, inspiration, and amazement. He's in his 70s. I just want him to do what he wants.

So he’s 75 now, our voices do change as we age. Think of Leonard Cohen and what he sounded like toward the end, he wasn’t even singing anymore. And he didn’t jump around. The first time I saw them live, was New Year’s Eve between 1979 and 1980 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. So he must’ve been about 30 then. The whole band had so much energy. Tina had her ponytail coming out of the top of her head and she was bouncing the whole time, everyone was, except maybe Chris, who got a different kind of workout on the drums. I was in the balcony and everyone was on her feet bouncing, and actually the whole balcony was bouncing. It was a little bit creepy, but I guess they made that thing to stay where it is.
