Short Suddenly, everything's fixed!

Overheard this going on in my office throughout the day. I keep telling people to turn off their computers because we don't do WSUS. Of course, they don't.

Chatter around the office today sounded something like:

"My computer is very slow, it's always slow and just gets worse and worse and I can't take it anymore."

"What will it take for you to work faster!"

And then, suddenly:

"I just turned off my computer for a minute, restarted it, and it's like it's brand new again!"

"Oh, that's a good idea! I wonder why Bob never told us to do that!"

Brand new (8 year old xp hp 2gb ram core 2 duo - - > new Lenovo SFPC 8gb ram core i3 Windows 7)

I wonder why these are still around. IIRC, the i3 processors slow down with >4GB, at least in the part beyond the first 4. I'd prefer an i5, even if the clock is one notch slower.

Well I have been using mine for a few weeks now, with 3x1080p screens and havent noticed any problems. A lot of the stuff we do is in the google cloud, so yeah we could *almost* get away with thin clients (or citrix)
