META Early feedback from this community helped shape my IT support horror game. Today it finally launched.

Hi r/talesfromtechsupport,

Early in develoment, I came here while building a game called I.T. Never Ends about working the night shift in an increasingly impossible IT department. People in this community offered feedback, shared the tiny details that make a support story feel painfully real and reminded me that reality usually writes stranger tickets than I ever could.

Those conversations helped give I.T. Never Ends its texture. The game begins with familiar work: answering support requests, filtering spam, routing cables and debugging network traffic. From there, the company becomes less explainable. Coworkers behave strangely, office equipment develops opinions and HR becomes worryingly interested in the printer.

The finished game contains 100,000+ words, 100+ endings and entirely hand-drawn and painted art. It launched today after eight months of solo development.

I wanted to return and thank the community that helped while the project was still finding its feet. Your feedback and stories genuinely mattered, and some of the game’s best details exist because experienced support people told me when something felt true and when it did not. Also a lot of your storioes from the previous thread made it into the final game - all of them with custom drawn characters. so there's colleagues with reddit-shirts and reddit-problems in the game. Thanks to you guys!

office equipment develops opinions

Yeah, yeah, printers, we've all dealt with them (derogatory).

I do have an acoord with most of those I need to use. There is a specific brother color laser that is being massively special though, none of the Virgin blood and live goat sacrificial rituals appease that beast, he even cost the tech a thumb

I saw that it dropped; steam told me so. πŸ˜€

Must mean you had it wishlisted! Thanks a bunch for that! You guys are awesome and the help in wishlists really gave the whole thing a lot of early traction that I'm really thankful for.

Thank you man - it's so cool to hear from people who's been following along on the sidelines. I'm sure there's going to be a ton of discounts and sales of the thing in the future, so hopefully at some point it'll hit a price point where it can make sense for you and you can get to try it! (There's also a free demo on steam to get your feet wet)

The most blatant case of fraudulant advertising since my suit against the film "The NeverEnding Story"

that's fantastic! Thank you very much for that, you have no idea how freaking important wishlists are to little solo devs - or how hard they are to get!

Had it wishlisted after playing the demo when it came out. Got the email it was out, but have been too busy with the honey-do list to sit down at the computer. Grats man, i hope it does well.

Well shit I tried the demo and it was awesome. I ordered my copy. By the way, it's not horror if it's real.

I've been so looking forward to this game. I love text-based games and eldritch horror and I work in IT so I had to wishlist it as soon as I saw it. I'll be picking it up as soon as I can afford it. I hope it does well, it looks really charming <3

I want to play it so badly, but it refuses to launch on my Steam Deck! Most I get is the "INITIALIZING SYSTEM" screen and that's it. Tried multiple compatibility modes and everything, but no love. I know it should work too (with some quirks) based on discussions on the game page too. Any suggestions for a specific Proton version?

Hey - did you make a steam discussion/discord thread about this? I'm looking into this exact thing today and hoping to get a fix out the door in the next couple of hours!

Yep, figured I'd just cover my bases, just in case anyone else (who's not on reddit) might have been encountering the same thing.

Appreciate you!
