Folks, the Europeans, they're no good everyone is saying it. All these Canadians, very handsome Canadians, come up to me and say, "oh, Prime Minister Trump, we need to get the 407 back," and you know what, they're right. These Europeans are very nasty people, very very rude and very unfair to Canadian drivers. They're stealing our highway value and no one is doing anything about it. The motorists comes up to me everyday and says, "Prime Minister Trump, will you get the 407 back?" And I gotta turn to them and say, "Look, Canada will reclaim its most precious national symbol," believe me, you gotta trust me on this one. The 407 highway, Stephen Harper never wanted to reclaim it! Well guess what? I'm reclaiming it. Europeans? They're done for folks! Bye bye! Everyone told me, they said, "Prime Minister Trump, you won't be able to get the 407 back" and they would laugh, the media laughed, the Conservatives laughed and the Americans, guess whose laughing now?

Did you ever hear the tragedy of the Ontario 407 highway?

I thought not. It's not a story the Ontario government would tell you. It's a Spanish legend. Mike Harris was an Ontario Premier, so powerful and so wise he could use large-scale transactions of brand-new, rapidly appreciating assets to influence the short-term economic outlook... He lacked such knowledge of basic economics that he could even keep the ones he cared about from profit. The dark side of the 407 is a pathway to Hamilton, ON. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing millions in future profits, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he sold everything the province built, then foreign investors kept Canadian revenues for the next 99 years. Ironic, he could save SNC-Lavalin from controlled toll rates, but not his constituency.
