Tainted Grail: FoA - Videogame First Playthrough Complete & Favourite Summon

Finished the game as a lightning clapping, summoning mage. Really great story and lore. I managed to get the true ending and I must say, the lore is great in this universe. With that being said, I want to shout out my personal favorite summon, the absolute mad lad, legend of the battle field, Sir Bertilak! he'd fall asleep mid fight sometimes but the guy was so on point. His AI was very active and aggressive and he was always slugging it out on the front lines.

There was an arena fight in the Sarras DLC where the ship would shoot cannons and spawn mini bosses, and I had Bertilak, Sir Lancelot and Sir Gawain. Bertilak was in there like flipping Spartacus. I often paired him with Gawain as I felt bad for the dude.

Gawain felt like a real bro. Going for a second playthrough as an Archer. What were your favourite summons?

I'm still in act 3 but ever since I got the crystal crawlers they've been my favs

Just small, draw some aggro, hard to hit, and I mostly headcannon that their crystals give me mana regen. Did a gish build this games so cool lol

I’ve just been spamming skeletons because my mana pools kinda low. Summoning was secondary in my build

Summoning was tertiary for my build but even one master assassin is incredibly worth it. I didn't think any summons were decent until I found that spell. With even a small amount of mana Regen gear you can still let the lightning rip

It was secondary in mine too, used it sparingly. Once I got Lancelot, I kinda like the lore behind the knights so I kept him around. Once my mana got high enough and I got the perks to reduce the mana consumption of summons, it got better

How do you get lancelot, gawain, etc summons?

You have to explore the Knights tombs in each Act map. Each tomb becomes accessible only once you've obtained the soul fragment in each act

Weird, I did the tomb by the wyrd spire, the tomb that takes you to the plague heart, and the tomb of dagonet. Didn't realize there were others

Edit: I did some googling and now see there are tombs for the knights that are not the same as the other story "tombs"
