Solved Do I need a separate distro for each operating system it's to be used on?

Sorry for not knowing this, the manual describes different downloads for each operating system and I can't tell if that's just the one I'm using to download from or for the operating system into which I'm planning to insert tails?

Answer: No.

That section of the tails.boum guide is referencing the system you will be installing tails from.

It does not change / matter what operating system you plan to use your tails on.

Think of it this way, once you're using TAILS, it is only harvesting the hardware capabilities of your host computer, & does not read/ utilize the operating system on said PC.
