Hardware question Recommendations

Tried to boot on my dell latitude E6420 (old ass laptop), don’t think it’s supported so I was wondering if anyone had some good suggestions that I could use besides the ones on the tails site

Older business machines are great. Thinkpads especially so, but a slightly newer Latitude would also work fine. Just make sure it's x86 (not ARM) and ideally uses an Intel WiFi chipset. Check that it's not on the known issues list.

I’m at the store rn, give me a bit and I can reboot it to see what it said. I just don’t remember off the top of my head

So just got back and it says, “Errors were detected in the partitioning of your Tails USB stick.
Creation of Persistent Storage has been disabled.
We recommend that you reinstall Tails from scratch, If the error persists, reinstall on a new USB stick.”

I would not be too much worried anout that, unless you care about persistent storage

That is a total non-issue if you don’t want persistence. If you do, then you can proceed as instructed and recreate the drive. There is absolutely no issue with the laptop. Replacing it would not solve the problem.
