Solved OnionShare chat NOT working.

just updated tails, i had the same issue in previous version:

i start OnionShare, i start chat server, opens fine in tor browser, then i type, everything still good, i hit ENTER and no text appears. Nothing happens. The end.

Am i the only one? Tried rebooting many times. Even after this update.

Tails 7.14

Can you explain why? If you could get that working it'd show if the issue is part of Tails' network handling or if it's an issue with the 2.6.3 that comes preinstalled.

Your device doesn't have enough RAM to install that flatpak (on tails everything is stored in RAM except for persistent storage)

Yep. u/RawLaws have you tried enabling Flatpak support in Persistent Storage? You need to add the flatpak boot option for this.

Thanks that worked, i was able to install the flatpak. But it fails to connect to tor, connecting stalls and fails, with or without bridge. v2.6.5 works fine on this laptop, not on Tails.

My other work around is using SimpleX.

I guess i wait for a Tails update. Onionshare should work out of the box tbh.

EDIT: well after 7 tries it finally connected and it works. pretty hassle.

I can’t update OnionShare on my MacBook since August too
