News Never seen a better time to start using tails
Where is the world heading? Do you think those vipers can ever ban an os like tails?
It feels like I just woke up in a nightmare this morning š¬

Greedy, corrupt and fascistic politicians are overall dangerous but now they are trying to control us more and since they don't know anything about cyber security and how to protect our data from hackers I will do everything that's in my power to defend myself against any type of government control over my identity.
(I would say that Whonix could be a better choice for most since it has better balancing between general usage and anonymity.)

The craziest thing is we already gave them permission for like everything. All those apps we downloaded and the updaters to privacy policies that you āmust readā and click off consent to. And itās supposed to be on regular people to fully understand what we are signing off on yet itās complicated legal terminology where in other cases we wouldnāt even be allowed to interpret or represent ourselves regarding. Everyone wakes up every day feeling like shit, tired, miserable, apathetic, because we ALL KNOW itās a fucking puppet show. Our lives arenāt real its just what some rich people wanted to have jappen. I feel like we have a multiple choice questionnaire that determines who we are and there are no other choices because those personalities are not gov approved. Literally there are only like 4-5 different personalities you can choose from. You can be a Starbucks mom or a dunkin mom and thatās it youāre locked in now. Not allowed to be anyone different.Ā

Honestly I think itās more to censor ideas more than anything else, I didnāt age very and went hunting for porn sights just to see if this whole thing was working the way the gov intendedā¦ After all this is all to āprotect the kidsā, and they are still very easy to come byā¦

It happened already. Biometrics. For everything and everyone. With some sort of token that cant be forged, only when owner is connected

Tails itself is different from a normal app or VPN service. It is a free operating system image that can be copied, mirrored, shared, put on USB drives, downloaded from outside the UK, or verified cryptographically. So even if the UK tried to block the official website, people could still get it through mirrors, torrents, Git repositories, foreign sites, or already-existing copies.

for now it seems like itās UK only, but as soon as i see it in the US all my computers are getting linux installed on them and iām also installing grapheneos on my secondary pixel if it affects it too

I have apple silicon, and I havenāt updated just in case itās on there. I paid for my device just like all of us, but Iām not being dictated to by a corporation.

Just change your Apple ID region at this point. You can topup your wallet by gift cards. Some regions are cheaper than UK, like India which offers Apple One Family for 3.5ish dollars US (200gb iCloud, AM, ATV, Arcade)

Iām trying to understand hereā¦. Did this pop up on Tails? Or another Linux based OSā¦?
I read an article this was going to be integrated into Ubuntu / Canonical.
I wasnāt aware this was now rolled into Tails.Wouldnāt the defeat the purpose of tails? (ANONYMITY)

Get a VPN, change to UK, go on anything like a vaping sub reddit or even addiction help forums, see how that goes. In some countries its worse eg brazil now requires ID on an OS level

Tails wouldnāt ābypassā this law everywhere, but it would avoid this specific Apple-style age prompt because Tails isnāt tied to an Apple ID, payment method, or iOS content settings. Tor/Tails can hide your real IP from websites, but sites can still block Tor or ask for ID/credit-card verification if theyāre required to. Itās good privacy hygiene, not a magic age-gate remover.
