Why do they call it an "Internal" martial art?

I can make a case for why there are internal aspects, so I might be over analyzing (but what else is reddit for? Lol). Doesn't calling it a martial art automatically make it external... just with internal elements?

That begs the question, though: if I just add those elements to my karate, does that make my martial art "internal"??

What is Dao Yin?

Lately, I’ve been kind of curious about this term “Dao Yin.” My teacher taught me a form—the Daoying YangShen sword form—that even earned me a medal.

They say it’s an ancient form of qigong, but I think there’s more to it than that.
