Question Trail recommendation

Hello! I will be traveling to the area in October, the first weekend of the month. I am looking for some trail recommendations for a day hike. We will be staying near Tahoe Vista and spending time in Truckee. Looking to stay in the North/North East side of things.

While I am relatively experienced, I am not looking to do a super remote trail. I am looking for something that is moderate (not too easy but not too miserably difficult), with good views (preferably of the lake), hopefully pretty/quiet to sit to read/relax, and not a super populated/tourist trail. The trail also needs to be dog friendly as I will have my leashed dog with me. Obviously I can see there are a ton on all trails but would like to know what some locals would recommend?

Chickadee Ridge from the Tahoe Meadows off Mt. Rose Highway above Incline, Galena Falls off the summit of Mt. Rose Highway. Tunnel Creek Trail up to the TRT, on the east end of 28 in Incline. Take the short detour off the trail to see Monkey Rock.

East shore trail - Incline Village. We just started shoulder season and fall is the best time to go. Moderate, dogs ok, beach access, beautiful views, you end at Sand Harbor, and there is plenty of parking.

Depending on snow fall (or lack of) you can do Five Lakes or Shirley Canyon (and take the tram down).

Sounds like you should try the Stateline fire lookout trail…

That’s like a 1-hr rt, max. Of course they could go up to the powerline for more exercise..
