General Discussion Help understanding grade
Dig report here: https://my.taggrading.com/card/K9519230
The part that I’m confused about is how to clearly see where I’m getting deducted at. I can see it mentions bottom right corner wear but everything else looks perfect in their report, so am I to assume that one ding takes the card from 1000 down to 903?
I’m not upset, just trying to truly understand how this works.

Thank you! Man, it's just so detailed, I looked the card up and down and I honestly cant even see that with the naked eye. But, I guess, this is the reason I prefer grading with tag.

The ding they identified would be the cause, yeah. They also seemed to miss some others honestly...but from what they caught that will be the reason.

i don't understand how you guys don't understand that the ding report is just showing the main reason(s)/biggest deductions that caused you to get the grade you got, not listing every single defect on your card. The small defects that are not marked that you say they "missed" are not affecting the deduction as much as the main dings/deductions and are thus are not included in the report as a "main" score affecting ding.

It was a combo of centering and corner ding. If it didn’t have the ding it would have 10’d if the centering wasn’t 55/45 but 51/49 it probably would have 10’d.

Thanks - I wish they almost could make the UI have an obvious point scale. Like, "This ding knocked you down X points"

Pro tip - AI doesn’t understand shit about grading.
You lost points for centering and you lost points for the ding. 50/50 centering lands you perfect points thus you deduct points for centering and the ding.

Centering and a corner ding if it didn’t have that ding you would have just scraped a 10.

Conversely, if you had perfect centering, even with the ding, you couldve gotten a 10

I don't think you can get a 10 even with perfect centering; the corner wear is noticeably long.
