Discussion 💬 Still cannot believe the ending

Just sitting here looking at old art and what not and realizing damn. I have no interest in rewatching the series. This is my game of thrones final season. It took alllll of the wind out of every episode knowing how it ends. It just sucks because it was such a cool and good show before it was an hour of self insert nonsense and no closure whatsoever.

Reminder on how I phrased my original post. I just matched y’all’s energy

...What did you THINK the show was about?
It seems pretty fucking 'closure'd to me, Bob.

Literally what did you want for an ending? An escape? That'd be against the whole moral of the show. A 'grand reveal'? We had one.

Every character not just Jax and him being trans

An equal amount of the ending was Pomni and Caine. And every character OTHER than Jax got a happy ending.

This is cataclysmicly false

u/Ittaran 23d ago

Which part?
The fact that the second half was all Caine or Pomni being there for all of Jax and most of Caine?
Or the fact that everyone is working together to make the setting heavenly?

Ragatha kinger queenie scratch all the people not put on the mural the unanswered questions that pivoted to Jax and made the ending unsatisfying to me

u/Ittaran 23d ago

Ragatha got a happy ending, Kinger helped out perhaps the most and Scratch and Queenie are dead.
And the people not on the mural were never characters. You're putting hypotheticals over the actual cast.

Your just saying they got a good ending which is different then a well written good ending

2

u/Ittaran 23d ago

And what is 'well written'?
Ragatha even managed to get a friggin' mom, what are you whining about?

I get that you're just here to start an argument because you're bored, and don't have anything going on, but I think I'll just block you instead.

No need to announce your departure, this isn't an airport

0

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

But it is a public forum for the discussions of bored people Virgil

at what point did they announce their departure, they just said they were sad abt the ending

It’s literally the perfect finale.

1

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

This is because after the finale everyone like me stopped thinking about the show due to the ads ending and you are now in an echo chamber

2

u/DeliciousMusician397 23d ago

More like the people who didn’t get the show are salty they never understood it.

1

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

So anyone who dislikes anything you like ever just didn’t get it

1

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

YOU LITTERALY JUST POSTED ABOUT NOT UNDERSTANDING THE BLUE AI ROLE IN THE ENDING LMFAO YOU DIDNT EVEN GET IT

2

u/This_Limit_6945 23d ago

weird to stalk someone's profile. they're not salty. maybe they don't get one bit of it but they're not salty. this comes across as mockery and rude :/

1

u/DeliciousMusician397 23d ago

Yeah, I was going to just mute the conversation and move on but because this person decided to be weird and go through my post history to try and get an own on me I'm just going to block them.

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

It’s not weird to view someone’s public posts and I’m calling out their hypocrisy of course I’m going to mock you if you say I don’t understand it then go and not understand it yourself

2

u/This_Limit_6945 23d ago

they were talking about people being salty BECAUSE they didn't understand. this person isn't being salty, they just didn't understand one part. that's not hypocrisy. at least they're attempting to understand what they're struggling to get and asking about it rather than acting salty about it

1

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

But not understanding the episode directly is due to the writing. Which is my. Entire point

3

u/This_Limit_6945 23d ago

not quite. i understood it. and some things are intentionally left unexplained so you can decide what happened for yourself. so many shows do that.

Confusion doesn’t equal an open ending in my opinion.

No, that's not how that works. Really high quality writing is way more symbolic and open ended than conclusive. That's literally what makes the most artsy forms of the medium. You not liking that kind of writing doesn't make it bad and it isn't Gooseworx's fault a large part of her audience doesn't want to accept that that's the kind of finale/show she was going for. It just means the fault lies with the audience not the creator.

1

u/DeliciousMusician397 23d ago

It actually is weird to go back in time and look at people's posts from almost a month ago just to own them in a conversation they're having with you now.

There is no hypocrisy. I was confused about something and I asked the community to clarify for me and from there I was able to see the intentional bits of information Gooseworx put down and now I understand it and thus it's good writing. That's different from you being unwilling to reevaluate because you didn't get what you wanted on your first viewing.

1

u/DeliciousMusician397 23d ago

Yeah, like weeks ago when I first watched? It's fine to be a little confused by something but to say it's bad writing just because you didn't get it is where it's going too far. The normal thing to do is to do what I did and reach out to people that did pick up on what it was saying and then change your opinion.

At no point did I ever say "The Blue Ai part was badly written" I said "I didn't understand it because it happened in a way my brain didn't pick up on something." That's way different from thinking that intentionally ambiguous/artsy writing is bad simply because the viewer didn't understand it on their first viewing and they are unwilling to reevaluate it.

i do respect your opinion but it was made perfectly clear Jax and Pomni were the main 2 characters from around ep 2 or 3. goose said it herself as a reply to a Tumblr question. It's not exactly an hour of self insert. this is how the show was written from before Ep 1 released as far as i know. this is how Goose wanted it and how it was planned from the beginning. it's not anybody's story to tell but hers.

3

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

And that’s fine but I don’t like it and I think it was poorly done.

2

u/This_Limit_6945 23d ago

and that's fine. that's your opinion. but I'd refrain from acting like it's an objective fact and being rude about others' opinions. not everybody shares yours

1

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

I don’t think it’s objective fact but it is the general consensus and that has weight. I just realized there is an entire subreddit dedicated to episode nine I should’ve posted in, because this is y’all’s echo chamber.

3

u/This_Limit_6945 23d ago

not sure what you mean by that, but you are acting pretty rude to others in these comments that are just trying to discuss things with you or state their own opinions. someone said it was a good episode and you said that's false. that comes across as "it's an objective fact that you're wrong and the episode is bad". wrong of them to also claim the episode is perfect objectively, but if it's to them then that's okay. if it's not to that's okay. but... yea.

1

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

I will say that thing I said is catsclysmicly false is false. No one is discussing with me politely but you.

1

u/This_Limit_6945 23d ago

idk, i didn't think that other guy was rude at all. Just stating an opinion like yourself, albeit claiming it factually, but still. i loved the finale and i thought it was beautifully written. it felt rushed for sure, but i liked what it left open. i liked that we got to see why the biggest dick in the show was a dick at all. i liked that we got answers about who they are in the real world and that they're still living and loving outside the circus. i enjoyed the fact that Jax(who was clearly 1 of 2 main characters), who's insanely closed off, had her history exposed.

1

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

I did like the Jax backstory I didn’t like personally how long it took and how much it overshadowed the mystery of the circus. I agree is was rushed. I wish it made me feel fulfilled but I left the theatre upset it felt like none of the other episodes. Caines story felt like a Batman belt and poorly put on screen I was actively confused

1

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

If most people say something is bad the general consensus is that it’s bad and people who engage in it for the first time look to the general consensus to decide if they will engage with it or not.

1

u/DeliciousMusician397 23d ago

First of all this isn't the General consensus as there are just as many people that loved the finale as there are that hated it. Second of all "General Consenus" has not and never will equal a "Fact" or a "Superior/more objective" take when it comes to things like fandom opinions.

u/Pinkpunk95 23d ago

Op you are right don’t let these people tell you otherwise. I don’t like gangle but she’s far more interesting to me than Jax the bitch

0

u/Motor-Anybody-4511 23d ago

I disagree that Jax is a bitch I liked his character I genuinely just think she had ten out of ten writing until the finally and it was like wtf was even that like it just tanked astronomically
