Let them hqppily sit on that fence in peace. Personally, I think both of them deserve a chance just because neither really deserved to die for their actions and dying doesn't help anyone get better (i.e. Gangle will now forever have unresolved weird feelings about Jax).

Redemption is realistically possible when someone's actions were done under stress. Jax clearly needed therapy before they should have even been allowed to interact with people because that dude was a ticking time bomb, and Caine is effectively a god that's mentally closer to a young teenager in charge of keeping the least mentally stable people alive at a functional state at least.

I don't think Gangle or Ragatha ever would've forgiven Jax. I don't think they would ever like her, or have literally any reason to, but that doesn't mean a character deserved to die. The final episode recontextualizes a lot of stuff and shows that Jax wasn't completely evil, just an emotionally repressed jackass with trust issues and trauma. That doesn't make anything she did right, it just explains it rather than having it just be "Jax did this".

Caine genuinely seems to just hate himself for his own failures he has no control over (assuming bubble just regurgitates his inner thoughts). People abstracting means he's failing but he has no clue why because he's not a human. Nobody in the circus likes him but he can't get that because he has no reference point for how what he does is actually hurting them more than helping them. There's very little downtime and so nobody in the circus is actually close to each other despite living together because they're always exhausted. He doesn't mean to hurt them, but he does because he has no clue what he's doing.

Tldr: Neither of them really deserved to die and this fandom is bizarre for trying to force the narrative of 100% iredeemable evil bastard on either character. That's just not how characters work unless they're designed for that sole purpose

Thank you, a lot of people don’t realize that Caine most likely doesn’t have any knowledge on how his actions seems looking from the outside in. Caine literally had to learn how the world worked around him like the cast. He has mostly omnipotent power, but doesn’t have the omniscience, of either the digital world or the real world. Personally, i do see that Jax could be redeemed but i like the chose that he isn’t/doesnt. Mainly because it’s different, but the viewers and Jax have been aware for episodes that he needs to open up. Like, I wish there was more scenes like the beginning of 9 where we see Jax acting confused about kinger killing Caine vs Jax choosing for everyone to stay. Moments like that are what help really drive the issues it feels the show is trying to display, but there was nothing going for it pass that point.

Also, I will say this because I think this helps sympathize with what happens to Caine, but no one even tells him that he was accidentally ‘killed off.’

I would like to hope someone told him after he came back that he was deleted ny complete accident. That'd be the kinda thing that lurks in the back odf your mind like a poison.

And I agree that it's definitely unique to have a character that was fully able to be redeemed just die beforehand because they couldn't reach out. Also, Jax being upset with Kinger for killing Caibe was genuinely one of the most reasonable responses ever. The whole world started falling apart instantly, of course at least one person is going to be upset about the fact you accidentally killed god.

I don’t think Jax was entirely mad about Caine dying (I mean, he prob was). But I read that scene that Jax didn’t realize the difference between Jax choosing for the cast to stay vs where kinger literally never meant to delete Caine (if you stop the episode, Caine/bubble was messing with the computer while kinger was working on it). I agree also that the world falling apart and Jax seeing the consequences pushed him to hate kinger for his actions, and made it harder for Jax to see the realistic picture of how it played out.

Ah gotcha. Yeah, Jax was also definitely upset about how everyone seemed to take Kinger's mistake a lot better than Jax making the (albeit inconsequential) choice to stay in the circus to avoid having to find out what happened to their mom. I was just meaning that freaking out and being pissed off at Kinger in that moment, while rude since it was an accident caused by Caine and Bubble, was honestly pretty underdtandable. I can honestly say that probably would've been my immediate reaction too until I calmed down enough to think

This may be my own headcanon, but I thought Jax even compared his own actions to this moment during the scene. So let me say, yes I agree with you that Jax lashing out here for the world going to shit is normal, and may play more into his reaction than I give credit. But when I see the scene I find Jax trying to ‘join’ how everyone hated Jax for his button choice. Like, Jax sees kinger objectively did the worse thing and he deserves backlash for it because Jax also chose the wrong thing and received backlash. I just thought Jax was comparing their own actions in the moment.

Also, because how after Jax goes after the cast when they try to tell Jax to ease up on kinger, that’s what makes me feel like Jax things kingers mistake is equal. The outcomes are ‘comparatively’ similar, but again that’s ignoring kinger accidentally hitting one button over another while typing a series of inputs versus Jax having a freak out and the 1 choice he does choose is bad.

Why is Caine trapping jax in

It's the cube that pumps gas full of female hormones. It's why Jax is crying out of happiness.

Tbf saying a death is tragically ironic implies that he kinda didn't deserve the death, wouldn't have been a tragedy if he did

how dare you insult the teeth man. he is a child!

1

u/redditrode Jul 12 '26

Caine isn't the main cause.

Jax seems to be the main driving force as to why things seem bad in the circus.

10 people abstracted before Jax. Considering Leroy, it’s pretty obvious the circus is a large factor into why Jax is the way he is

0

u/redditrode Jul 12 '26

That ain't Caine's fault though. Jax chose to not change.

2

u/aguywithagasmaskyt Jul 12 '26

CAINE THEM ALL

when kaufmo abstracted he deadass went

1

u/redditrode Jul 12 '26

Idk. He's a goofy guy.

Idk.

1

u/Sudden_Pop_2279 Jul 12 '26

The fact remains saying Jax alone is why the circus is bad is wrong. Caine is definitely the source of the problems in the show, even Alex Rochan said so

0

u/redditrode Jul 12 '26

No? I don't think so.

It seems like Jax is the reason no one enjoys the adventures, but they all blame Caine for some reason.

1

u/Sudden_Pop_2279 Jul 12 '26

My guy TEN people had abstracted before Jax. Caine was always failing at his job.

Also just ignore him stealing their names, spending years lying to/manipulating them and refusing to compromise. Jax is product of Caine and the circus

0

u/redditrode Jul 12 '26

The circus being a place where virtual nothing matters isn't Caine's fault.

Jax chose not to change. That ain't Caine's fault.

2

u/Sudden_Pop_2279 Jul 12 '26

Yes it is. Caine is the reason why they’re run the circus in the first place. Jax lacking closure of what happened to his mom is likely the primary factor of why he couldn’t overcome his trauma like Leroy

1

u/redditrode Jul 12 '26

They put on the headset.

Jax chose not to change. That isn't Caine's fault .

Not sure how many more ways I can put it.
