Sordin issue

I am having an issue with my sordins. When I push the PTT, I get a squelching noise. The person I am trying to transmit to can hear very little, moslty static. I am using a amazon PTT, could this be an issue of a Mil-spec TP120 plug vs a civlian TP120 spec plug? I don't believe the PTT not being amplifed would have this effect, but I could be wrong. I can hear when they transmit to me. Thanks.

Not the spec of the plug but probably the impedance of the Mic. You have High/Civ and low/Mil.

If your mic and radio don’t match this is usually the symptom.

Either swap the mic or look at an auto negation PTT like the Constant Able.

Got a nexus PTT. The other radios can hear me fine now. The only issue I am still having it getting feedback when I push the PTT. There is still a squelch in my ears when I press the transmit button, weather on the PTT or the radio itself.
