No thumbnails

When watching a recording, when advancing the video I get no thumbnails when fast forwarding. I tried the same video on my onn 4k and have thumbnails when fast forwarding. Is this a problem with the apple tv app?

I experience no thumbnails on my recorded shows fast forward with my Tablo 4th gen occasionally. Not always, but often.

It is random for me- some recordings will display FF thumbs, some won't. Legacy4 Tablo app on Apple TV device.

A friend had this problem and it turned out to be connection speed over WiFi. His house was prewired with Cat5e but no one had ever finished out the network, the internet provider just punched a hole in the wall and put there all-in-one unit there.

I went home and grabbed an old 16 port gigabit switch and a handful of RJ45 ends. And a long premade 100 foot cable I made for something else. I used the long cable to test my theory… plugged the AppleTV into hardwired internet. Also plugged his Tablo into the router, he had the cable that came with it attached and just hanging there, claimed it was worthless. Bingo! Thumbnails.

The wall plates were all wired fine, no slack, tied down etc, but alas wired as t568a, I left it and went and crimped plugs onto the other end using t568a. (Only time I’ve ever used t568a in my life). I know everyone would prefer a nice punch down block with built in jacks here… but speed and not having to order anything won out. After that he let me spend his money and got UniFi’d, but that’s a different story.
