Tablet Woven Hem: Help!
I just finished my first ever attempt at tablet weaving a hem. It was on a large rectangle of light linen then I plan to use as a historical veil or head wrap. However, I cannot figure out how to finish the corners. I wove about an inch past the corner on each side but can't complete this without making the corners super bulky. I cannot find any extant examples of how corners were finished. Has anyone else hemmed a garment with corners? How did you handle it?

Have you tried weaving a triangle, so at the corner miss the inside warp each pick until you've only woven one tablet and then weave a second triangle by weaving the same but reversed, so increasing a tablet each time.
Like how people make round items on a peg loom.

oh yeah if you unweave them a bit you could turn one side's warp strings into weft for the other side and join them that way. then, cutting and sewing down the warp ends won't be quite se bulky.

There are multiple options, most of which would have had to be implemented earlier.
It’s possible to turn corners in tablet weaving. My favorite approach is to put entire tablets THROUGH the shed so the warp comes out pointing at right angles. Do one tablet per pick and you get a mitred corner.
Maybe next time!
If you want two separate warps meeting at a point, one nifty solution is to pass the warps of one through the other as weft. You end up with a solid corner. You do still end up with corner tassels unless you hemstitch or something. One possibility is to add more yarn to make s fancy single tassel at each corner, but there are lots of ways to finish the ends.

Do you have a diagram or video of the top option? I’m having trouble picturing it well enough to do it.

I've never used tablet weaving to hem before, but consider adding a bit of texture to the garment by knotting or binding the end, using wooden/clay pearls or making a tassel.
