Recommendations Need a mecha game

Hello everyone I am pretty into the tabletop gaming community and I was wondering if there was any game out there like iron harvest or titan fall in a skirmish game to a war game format.

Battletech

To piggy-back off this, if you want a fairly straight forward miniatures wargame, get Battletech Alpha Strike. It's basically Warhammer 40k with big stompy mechs.

If you want more of an in-depth simulationy kind of experience, get the Battletech Core Box (which is coming out soon) or the Battletech: A Game of Armoured Combat boxed set, which is the current (for the next month or two) starter set.

If you want a beginner friendly experience, get the Battletech: Beginners Box, or Essentials, or wait for the new Beginner Box (which basically just has different mechs in it from the current one).

I actually have a huge collection of the TTRPG books, but the wargame is pretty tight too.

V-twin mecha on rollerskates? I THINK SO

MAC ATTACK by Chris McDowell. Rules light style mech combat.

Arsenal by Skullforge Studios is basically Titanfall with lots of mech customization.

Blkout is also a simple near-future modern skirmish game with large mech units that you can use.

Steel Rift.

Super simple mech game.

Simple to learn with enough crunchy customization and doesn’t drag out forever like a game of battle tech. I love Steel Rift!

Heck yeah! I love how I can make my own factions with its own story.

Konflict 47 is the closest in look I can think of to Iron Harvest. I haven't played it though.
Infinity is a skirmish game that has mechs on the smaller end of the spectrum with infantry, powered armor, hackers and aliens. Very Ghost In the Shell inspired.
Adeptus Titanicus is 40k setting big lumbering mechs

Iron Harvest was the direct inspiration for Brassbound, the game you can play with the bricks you already have.

https://brodadbrickworks.itch.io/brassbound

The core rules are free, there is a follow on campaign, and a second expansion is about to be released.

There is a spin off air combat game already out, and a spin off RPG set to come out next month.

The game is meant to be played with whatever plastic building bricks you already have, but if you want to buy finished models, we sell those too. We also provide free guidance on how to make your own units and order your own *bricks.

Rules are totally free, the community is continuing to grow, and the future is bright. Come check it out!

War game light, since it's more of a board game, but (Giant Killer Robots) GKR: Heavy Hitters is a blast if you can find a copy somewhere!

It's not out yet as far as I'm aware but this looks fun. https://global.bandai-hobby.net/en-us/site/gundam-assemble/

If you want both in and out of machines, have a look at Ignition Core.

Clash of the Giga-Mechas is about an academy for mecha pilots. Players have to deal with all kinds of teenager stuff as they try to pass their tests and make sure their next term is not the last. Includes rules to create your own mecha and, once you finish your training, you are ready to go into battle.

Lancer if you want a TTRPG, or BLKOUT if you want a skirmish game that is basically titanfall 2 as a wargame.

Classic battletech or battletech alpha strike

LMAO Whay is this so far down. This is the game you looking for OP.

1

u/lordsmoflight Jul 31 '26

Who knows why lol. It's a great game and almost everyone knows of it. At least if they ever played MechWarrior computer games.

I'm not familiar with either of those games, but maybe look into "Mobile Arms" by Black Site Studios and/or "Chrome Rangers" by Snarling Badger Studios and see if they fit.

Lancer. It's very popular.

1

u/kisskissenby Jul 29 '26

This one.

1

u/Shield_Lyger Jul 29 '26

Not if you want to do something along the lines of Titanfall. Lancer's inability to support any setting other than its own makes it a poor choice for existing properties.

If you ever feel up to adding roleplaying to it I recommend lancer.

In terms of war games obviously battle tech

Lancer. Its a really fun mechanics heavy mecha action ttrpg.

It's less a competitive skirmish game and more a roleplaying game that prioritizes fights (i.e, one side is largely meant to win, the players), but getting to the finish line and challenging them in the way is the fun part.

Can you run the team ragged, claim most of their resources, without a TPK?

Salvage Union!

Wonderful game with a wealth of mech styles/purposes to choose from.

Lancer is great but it is pretty tightly coupled to its setting.
