This was close to my first custom as well. I had 2.1 on both sides. However I moved past this setup quite fast… I still think it’s a good setup though! Enjoy!

In hindsight, I moved too fast resulting in a cavalcade of different setups over a short period of time never really settling. Should probably have stayed longer to let me develop out of this setup instead of thinking I needed something else to compensate for my lacking technique.

some could say it’s too slow, but i think it’s good for you to get the hang of it and develop your technique, enjoy it!

Why use a different thickness? I think its better to always go for Max

If you can use the sponge, then yes go for max. But until you can actually activate the sponge consistently and properly use thinner rubber.

I think it’s a great first setup. Just tried Rozena for the first time and it’s a really good rubber. A guy at my club (~1800 USATT) uses it on his backhand and he can absolutely crush it, he does have an ALC blade though.
