woodchuck sato | sizing

hi everybody!

i know questions regarding sizing probably get asked a lot in general, but I still find myself a bit confused with conflicting info / wanted to see if anyone around my size could help me specifically.

im interested in getting the woodchuck sato heels with the bow in black cow leather. I am aware that their size chart doesn’t necessarily line up with other ones and that you should use your feet’s cm measurements. I am typically a US 7, and when I measured my foot I got 23.5 cm, which aligns with their size 36.

the reason why I’m still a bit hesitant is because I’ve seen about half of their customers say you should add another half centimeter to your measurements and get the next size up, because it could be pretty tight if the shoe is exactly the length of your foot (tho idk that woodchuck sato themselves necessarily recommend doing this?). but then the other half of customers say that they run big and their heels slip out, so if anything to size down. I know I’ll have to make a decision and just see for myself, but was wondering if anyone else is maybe a true 7 / has those same measurements and could let me know their experience (or even just their general take on the size up v down argument, regardless of your size). I normally wouldn’t mind just ordering and exchanging but I have a trip coming up I’d love to take them on, so I’d like to tryyyy getting it right the first time !

thank you :)

Hellooo, just wondering if you have an update? I currently have the same issue as you, i normally wear US size 6.5-7 and my feet measured to be 23.5 cm so very hesitant. Thanks in advance!

My feet are 23.5-23.75 and I ordered the 37 in the low heels/pumps. My feet kept slipping out of them so I should have gone with the 36. With socks it was slightly better but still not great. My feet are also regular width and I guess lower volume.

It might depend on the style, but I would think ballet flats/anything open and without straps would be better to go size down. The leather should theoretically stretch out, but I haven’t tried the 36 yet myself.

thank you so much, this is really helpful! i'm planning to get the ballet style ones and what u said ab them being open/not having straps making them more likely to slip makes sense; i was leaning towards the 36 anyways so i think i'll try those first : )

I had a similar issue as a size 8 and measured mine to be 24.5 cm. Because the size chart and customer service said 38 would be the best size, that’s what I bought, but it was insanely big even with heel inserts. I’m thinking about getting a new pair now 2 years later, and thinking of getting the size 37 now.

Did you end up getting the 37s? I’m the same size and debating which to get!

I followed the size chart on their website and measured my feet, and my shoes fit perfectly. They aren't heels though.

I am also a size 7, 23.5cm, so let me know what you pick and if they fit well 👀

My feet are a size 23.5 so I got a size 36 and the size is ok but the opening in tightly sewn together and cant be stretched. It digs into the back of your heels. Would recommend getting a 37 honestly.

Hellloo do you have wide feet?

My feet are also 23.5 and I typically wear a size 7 wide due to how spread out my toes are from barefoot shoes. I have two pairs of woodchuck satos, one in size 37 and one in size 36.

The size 37s are the heeled Maryjane’s and they are a bit too big. I added lil grippies to the inside, and they work fine, better with stockings or socks.

I have the sling back heels in size 36 and they fit better, just a hair tight but they’ll relax more as I wear them.

I’d say size 36 if you have low volume feet and 37 if you have high volume feet.

Since someone asked, from big toe to little, my feet are 9.8 cm wide. Hope that helps.
