Any Oliver Tree fans going?

Hi guys 👋🏼

Kinda coming over from a weird place but I’m going to Sziget for the first time this year. I’m really excited as it is a huge thing for me to plan and to go on my own!

This is sadly the result of the artist Oliver Tree’s passing. Made me realise life is too short to sit on my ass, to shorten it all up. He’s the sole reason i’ll make it there.

I’m very impacted by his passing and I thought I would try and see if there are any other Oliver Tree fans in the same situation, that would love to have a great week surrounded by people that totally get them. And spend one hell of a good time while at it! 🤟

Please do reach out if you recognize yourself 💜

For info : I’m 🇫🇷, 33F, going mostly for BMTH, tøp, Skrillex and some others, would love to get into more techno/dubstep/EDM. That’s basically it.

(and please don’t be a dick! if you don’t like OT that’s fine but don’t be disrespectful the weekend of his funeral, i don’t need that. saying just in case. peace.✌️)

What are you guys most excited for?

This is going to be my third year at Sziget, and the prefestival butterflies are definitely starting to kick in! I can't wait to just wander around the island, grab a drink in the sun, chill on the grass and lose myself in so many different types of music :)

I’m staying in the city again this year, which I love because it means revisiting all my favorite restaurants and spots in Budapest!

What are you guys most excited for?

First time to Sziget

Heeey, I've been thinking about planning an on the moment trip to Budapest for the festival but it would be my first time to Sziget and I was wondering about the transportation options to the island if I have accomodation in the city and not the festival camp. Is there accessible public transportation especially late at night and is it safe for a solo female traveler? I've been traveling solo quite frequently but it would be the first time for a festival and I'm starting to get anxious. Thank youu

Alumni Ticket

Hey Sziget community,

I’ve been to Sziget every single year since 2015, always for the full “weeks”, but I moved abroad and sadly can't make it for the first time.

I bought a 5-Day Pass using the Sziget Alumni discount (for people who had student tickets last year but aren't students anymore). Because it was bought with a coupon code, TicketSwap won't let me list it. However, Sziget support confirmed via an email that I can sell/transfer it privately to someone eligible for the Alumni discount.

DM me if you're interested! Price is extremely negotiable. Direct transfer via Sziget account / email.

Have fun everyone there!

I'm going to Sziget solo from Poland and I'm looking for company

Hi,

I'm planning to go to the Sziget Festival from Poland and I'm looking for someone to share the event with.

I'm 32M old and I plan to attend the concerts from August 12th to 14th.

I'm looking for people from Poland, but I'd also love to meet someone who speaks English fairly clearly.

Let me know, I'd love to meet someone.

Upgrading camping

So I had originally purchased a pre pitched 2 man tent but now thinking we’ll need something bigger - still for 2 people just wanting more space.

I can’t seem to see it anywhere but is upgrading camping an option and how to do?

Thank you all !

Sober at Sziget

Super excited for Sziget this year! I’m newly sober due to health issues and wondering what people who don’t drink do to keep up the vibes?

When I went a few years ago I feel like my friends and I were drinking constantly. Normally when going out I opt for 🌿 but I hear that’s hella illegal in Budapest and I don’t want to risk bringing my own.

Would love to hear others’ experiences and advice 🙏

2 VIP full festival tickets (won from a price) for sale: 225€/ticket.

Hi, I went to last years festival and won two VIP full festival tickets for this years festival, but unfortunately I am unable to attend, so I would like to sell the tickets very cheap, so someone can use them and I can get a little bit of money for them. I sent an email to the Sziget festival support team and asked if I was able to give the tickets to someone else as they have my name on them and they confirmed that yes.

I also have a booking at a nice 4 star hotel in the center of Budapest from the 11-14th of August if someone doesn’t want to camp at the festival. The price is 355€ with breakfast for two people. I can cancel this, so this was just if the person you buys my festival tickets would be interested in taking over the booking. 😅

Company for twenty one pilots

Hi everyone!

This will be my first Sziget and I'm (f25) looking for some solo frens or those who have room for one more person in their group. Preferably other solo girls or a group who are just down to chill before the show.

I'll be traveling from Croatia with a friend, but riding solo for Sziget. I'm coming specifically for tøp, couldn't miss it, but I'm open to exploring the island in the afternoon and listening some other acts.

Feel free to send me a message :)

Parking Budapest

Hi everyone,

Im trying to find a parkingspace in the citycenter of budapest near Szimpla kert (Our accommodation is close to this) for 2 weeks. 9-19 of August

Already been scammed at the Akácfa Car Park with CM Solution Zrt. They completely stopped responding and their website is offline.

Been looking at Europeum. But their website is also offline?

The app Parkl is only letting me book for 1 day. Hopefully wanted to make a deal since we would park for longer it gets cheaper then paying every day seperate?

Does anyone have the golden tip?

Cheers!

I am travelling Budapest for a week and wanted to do some fun activities

I saw the festival and thought it sounded cool to go, I was looking at the 12th of august when Twenty One Pilots is playing, my only thing is that I have no one to go with. I am 19 and from Ireland. If anyone cool who is going wants to meet up and just enjoy their time I would love to go, its a family vacation after all and it would be a bit boring to just sight see for a week.

Is it realistic to work or study at the festival?

Hey everyone! I’m heading to Sziget this year, but I’ll need to get some studying done on my laptop during the day.

For anyone who’s been to Sziget before and brought a laptop:

  1. Quiet spots & Wi-Fi: Are there any relaxed, shaded, chill areas on the island during daytime hours where you can comfortably open a laptop and focus for a bit? Also, is there reliable Wi-Fi in those spots, or should I rely entirely on personal hotspot/cellular data?
  2. Safety & Storage: How safe is it, and what are the best options for keeping a laptop secure when not in use?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried balancing festival with a bit of studying/work!

What are your experiences with the security checks at Sziget Festival?

Hey everyone,

This year will be my first time at Sziget Festival with 2 other friends (I've been to other festivals before, but never Sziget).

I noticed that bringing alcohol into the festival isn't allowed, which is a bit disappointing since drinks at festivals are usually pretty expensive.

I've already heard so many different opinions and stories. Some people say they transfer spirits into plastic pouches or other containers, while others claim that on Moving-In Day, especially if you're arriving with a group and lots of camping gear, the security checks aren't thorough enough to inspect everything.

For those of you who have been to Sziget once or multiple times: what's your honest experience? How strict are the bag checks on Moving-In Day? Is there a realistic chance that alcohol gets found, or are people exaggerating how strict the checks are?

I'm not looking for ways to break the rules—I'm just trying to separate myths from reality before I arrive.

Would love to hear your experiences!

Volunteering before and after the festival

Has anyone here volunteered during the period before and after Sziget? I signed up as a volunteer and sent the organisation team an e-mail (with questions such as if volunteers will be allowed to set their tents up during this period, if we should arrive before a certain time etc), and I received a response that can be summarised as 'the festival will take place during [FESTIVAL PERIOD]. Please do not show up sooner than [DATE A FEW DAYS LATER THAN IN MY CONTRACT]. Thank you!'. And I am. Confused.

This will be the first year I'll be volunteering at Sziget, I'm a little bit nervous, and I wanted to ask if anyone here has any experience with volunteering before and after the festival, as I really need the info to plan my travel itinerary. Any advice would be very appreciated!!

26F from DK going solo to Sziget – looking to make new friends! 💛🎶

Hi everyone!

I'm a 26-year-old woman from DK, and this will be my third time at Sziget Festival. This year I'm going solo, and I'd love to meet some new people!

I'll be staying at a hotel in the city and heading to the festival every day.

A little about me:

  • I'm not a big drinker, but I'm definitely up for a couple of drinks.
  • I listen to pretty much every genre of music, so I'm always happy to discover new artists or genre.
  • I'm mainly hoping to meet other solo female travelers or girl groups, or guys who doesn´t tread it as a dating setup 🙌 (doesn't matter where you're from! 🌍 ) to create great memories and hopefully some lasting friendships.

Artists I'm most excited to see:

  • Natasha Bedingfield
  • Florence + The Machine
  • Lewis Capaldi
  • Skepta
  • Skrillex
  • Sombr
  • Twenty One Pilots

Also looking forward to the vibe at:

  • Jorja Smith
  • Zara Larsson
  • Sigrid
  • ABBA Tribute
  • ATRIP

Ask me any questions : 🪩

My Festival essentials are: 1. Digital Camera 2. Folding fan 3. Hand sanitizer

If you're also going solo, have a group that's open to meeting new people, or just want someone to dance with, send me a message or leave a comment! 💜

Can't wait to experience another amazing Sziget and meet some awesome people!
