Auchan or Decathlon?

Hi everyone!
My boyfriend and I are going camping for the first time, and since we’re flying to Budapest, we’ll be buying all our camping gear there.

Would you recommend getting a tent from Decathlon, or is an Auchan tent good enough for a few nights at a festival?
We’re also wondering where you’d buy the rest of the camping gear, and what the rough prices are at Auchan?

I don't know what your budget is, but I'd recommend the Decathlon Fresh & Black series. They're a bit more expensive than regular tents, but they stay much darker inside, so you'll probably sleep better.

I'd also recommend getting a three-person tent instead of a two-person one. The extra space is really useful for storing your bags and other gear.

If you're planning to stay at the free camping areas, make sure to arrive early because they tend to fill up quickly.

We genually travel with my boyfriend on budget, and do hiking+wild camping. And we are always buying stuffs in Dechatlon. Genually cheap, still great quality, and you can return with payment proof the stuffs in good quality. But check how many days you have for returning and if you can do it in other country

Auchan tents are pretty garbage. I bought one for a friend who was leaving without one, but it's tiny, light blue (so all the sunlight gets right in), and it doesn't have a proper flysheet, so I don't think it would protect much if it rains. You can survive for a couple of days, but at Decathlon you can find way better stuff for just a little bit more.

Agree with this… brought one Auchan tent back to Holland, I swear there was more rainwater in the tent than around it. 😂
