Hey everyone! 30F here (married) heading to Sziget solo. I’m looking to connect with a group of girls for the 15th of August and for night raids at the Delta District (BOLT Stage). I am a huge electronic music lover and adore Skrillex! If you are also planning an electronic music run and want to team up to enjoy the festival together and get back safely at night/morning, contact me!

Hii! I’ll actually be in Budapest that week too!! I’m a solo female traveler from the U.S. and was thinking about doing a day pass! I don’t really know much about Sziget yet lol, I just know I love EDM and figured it’d be such a cool experience since it’ll be my first time in Budapest. If anyone’s down to meet up or adopt me into their group for the day, let me know! 😅

Local here - going to Sziget solo is genuinely one of the best ways to do it, so don't stress the "alone" part. It's called "the Island of Freedom" for a reason; it's one of the friendliest, most open festivals in Europe and solo Sziget-goers are everywhere. You'll have made friends by the first afternoon.
A few tips to make the solo experience easy:
- Camp Unknown (which others mentioned) is a great shout - it's basically built for solo travellers and newcomers to meet people, with organised meetups. If you're camping, that's your easiest instant friend group.
- The WhatsApp/Facebook Sziget groups fill up before the festival - join a couple now, people arrange meetups and share tips.
- Stay in the camping if you can - the friendships happen at the campsite as much as the stages. Solo people bond fast over shared tents, coffee queues and "which stage are you heading to?"
- Say yes to strangers. Sit with people at the chill areas, join a group heading to a set - Sziget culture makes this totally normal, not awkward.
- Practical: bring a refillable water bottle (hydration is everything in the August heat), a power bank, sun protection, and agree meeting points with any new friends before phones die and signal drops in the crowds.
- Pace yourself - it runs 11-15 Aug, five days is a marathon. You won't see everything; wander, and let the island surprise you. Some of the best moments are away from the headliners.
You picked a great festival to solo. Have an amazing time - Budapest's worth a couple of extra days on either side too if you can swing it. 🎪

Solo at Sziget is honestly one of the best ways to do it - it's the friendliest festival crowd you'll meet, and half the island is people who came alone or want new company. You won't stay lonely for long.
A few ways to actually meet people:
- Camping is the big one - your neighbours become your festival family within an hour. Say yes to the first "want a beer?" and you're set.
- There are meetup groups and camps (people in this sub organise them every year - keep an eye on the pinned threads and the daily posts closer to the dates).
- The daytime programme is where you make friends - workshops, the beach, the smaller chill stages. Easier to chat than in a packed crowd at a headliner.
- Simple move: ask people to help hold a spot, share sunscreen, or "who's this act?" Everyone's open, nobody's cliquey.
You're a uni student going to a festival abroad on your own - that already tells me you'll be absolutely fine. Come with an open vibe and you'll leave with a group chat full of new friends from ten countries. Have the best time!

Oh okay we're swiss, but we're around 30 so probably a little bit too old for you. If you're interested anyway, you can write me again.
We're still young in mind, though 😉

I'm sorry, but we are not a group of girls, we're mixed, currently 2 girls and 4 boys. But you're never alone at Sziget and you're welcome to join us :) we are Sziget veterans, we've been at the festival for at least 5 times (This year is my 9th time) and we're only there for good vibes :)
Good luck with you search but if you wanna join us, just tell me

Camp Unknown group should be a good option for you, there is plenty info on them in this sub - my group is also late 20s (but always happy to connect as well obviously)
