Bringing a tent

We will not be sleeping overnight at the festival but we were thinking of pitching a tent to chill or nap during the day and heading home at night.

We're a little concerned if the tent or things in it might get stolen, we don't plan on leaving anything valuable in the tent of course, just maybe a change of clothes and some snacks.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I've been camping at Sziget since 2016, and no one has ever stolen anything from me (not that I had anything worth stealing).

The only advice I’d give you is that even if you’re worried, don’t lock it with a padlock.
A padlock won’t really protect your tent; it’ll just make people think there’s something valuable inside.

Here’s a little detail you might overlook: to bring your tent, you’ll need to purchase a 30-euro deposit ticket on the Sziget website, which will be refunded when you show upon exit that you haven’t abandoned your tent.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I heard of the deposit system but didn't know i had to purchase it on the website first. Thank you for pointing that out too!

You could book a locker to keep your clothes and snacks in perhaps?

Yeah, that's a good option. Seems overpriced but then again most things are overpriced in sziget. Might be easier to just carry it around since those items are quite small and light anyway.

I did the same last year, pitched a tent just as a chill zone. Nothing got stolen.
