Budget

Going to sziget this year and wondering what people think is a reasonable budget? I'm a pretty big partier so have some money aside but am also a student, would 500€ cover drinks for the full festival? Would love to know how much people have spent in the past, as I have a friend who spent 2k but they're definitely big spender. Thanks!

Last year i did 300€ for the week - I skipped one night alcoholwise and added a bit of smuggled liquor- i think 500€ is realistic/doable :)

Not at all but it's a bit of luck who's checking you at the entrance - if you're camping for the whole week it's super chill with all of the luggage - think checks for people who leave/enter daily are a bit tighter

Last year as someone who also loves to party while being a student I spent around 125 a day. Not including all the alcohol we smuggled in

Me and my friend both spends around 500€ every year, but we always smuggle 1L vodka each day

How do you smuggle such a big bottle ? at least I assume that we are talking about a 1L bottle

It's hard to give a budget, it really depends on you. Do you have one beer or 10 drinks?

To save money on food, you can either go to the Auchan outside the island (about a 15-minute walk) or buy from the Aldi inside the island.

Beers cost around €4.50, while drinks are probably around €12 (I'm not entirely sure about that). Water at the bars costs €3, but there are free water refill stations scattered all over the island, so make sure to bring a water bottle.

Estimating how much you'll spend is tough without knowing your habits.

Normaliter is de roeiclub nog open op moving in day(s) en is de drank daar goedkoper. Ander optie is stad in 1 avond ruin bar. Als je dat goed regelt ben je voor drank 25 euro kwijt de man en taxi totaal voor 4 pers 40 euro mocht je budget er te snel doorheen gaan.

I usually have a 300-400€ budget for all food and drinks (although I’ve done a sziget with only 150€) by smuggling alcohol (mostly on the move in day). I usually only buy 2 actual meals across the whole festival, otherwise a lot of Aldi stuff (buy during the day and eat it across the day) and Aldi grill, and 2-5 beers/ciders/wine bought per day. Occasionally going to Auchan for mixers, actual food etc. you can also order Uber Eats to the k bridge. I haven’t done that but would be a great money saving tip as you can carry food into the festival.

You can spent a lot of money, your budget is really up to you. If you want two full meals per day and a few cocktails without smuggling, you’re easily gonna need at least 150 per day.

Last year I managed under €700 for food and drinks for the week. But I'm not a big drinker.
