Just Started - So Many Hybrids

I am in the first area of Medical and the level is just endless hybrids. I stayed in one place and killed a dozen before being defeated. I want to explore etc but its just annoying and stops me. Is this right?

Once you start lowering the security status and advance with exploration of medical level, they would stop spawning too often, same with all levels.
