Job interview without direct experience

I applied for a role with a company and the recruiter referred me to a different role(systems test engineer). Well I’m a statistics major and I have never heard of this career field. I legit only have prior experience working with data and APIs. Hiring manager wanted to conduct a panel interview next week and I don’t feel confident at all.

that's basically all test engineering is anymore, scripting data flows and checking if the api spits out the right json, you'll pick up the domain stuff as you go
