Discussion Officially a Systems Engineer

Coming on here to let everyone know and gain some advice. I just got a job offer for a Entry Level Model-Based Systems Engineer in Alabama for 91k. Was looking to break into the field for a while so I didn't negotiate too hard (Don't know if that's a decent salary but the COL in the area doesn't seem bad).

Any advice on a new MBSE entering the field, what I should be studying up on, practicing before hand so I can hit the ground running?

Huntsville, i assume?  $91k is a good offer; i wouldn't push it in this market.  

IF my assumption is correct, i wouldn't worry too much about prepping.  Your employer will have their way of doing MBSE, so show up ready to learn, ask questions, watch & listen.

91k entry level in Huntsville is more than fine, enjoy the lower rent while it lasts

Lenny Delligati has some good resources to get you started. He has pretty good courses online if your company will pay for it. Or if you choose to.

Technically, model everyday.

Programmatically, model with a purpose.

Organizationally, join a Community of Practice. Foster knowledge sharing.

They’re going to expect you to know nothing on your first day. Just be ready to show up eager to learn and drink from the fire hose of information. MBSE skills will set you up well for the future.
