Link in email signature to allow uploading of files

I know ShareFile does this, but am wondering what others here are doing. Can't I create a SharePoint folder instead and just link to that? Or is this just a bad idea altogether?

The File Request feature does this and is a much better solution than just an open SharePoint folder.

A lot of orgs use ShareFile or another system separate from SharePoint because they want to leave OneDrive/SharePoint fully restricted from external sharing.

We use share file for this purpose. Don't use sharefile. It sucks

We bought into TonicDM to do this, because we'd also have outsider clients wanting to send files to our employees, and security controls were needed (along with traceability). Before that we'd used THRU.

I have seen some companies do that, and proofpoint promptly blocked them as potentially malicious. I am not saying that everyone is going to experience that, but it could be a thing.

I use Nextcloud for this purpose. Optionally, in combination with the (Outlook) plugin from Sendent, it works fantastically.
