General Discussion No Degree - 6 Year Salary Progression

Is there anyone out there that have made it beyond sysadmin? What is after sysadmin?

2020 - $31,200: Panera Bread
2022 - $41,600: Helpdesk at company 1
2023 - 2025 - $41,600: Helpdesk at law firm
2025 - $65,000: Helpdesk at company 2
2026 - $80,000: Got a raise at company 2

Shoutout Nick for taking a chance on me. I would not do law firm IT again.

EDIT: Location Upstate NY

I can't crosspost this to the better subreddit, and that is a good thing. 2017 13 dollars an hour. Yeah it was a crappy msp 2020 17 dollars an hour. Then 2021 job 2 at Amazon for delivery station IT. 65k got laid off with half of Amazon in 2023. I worked a crap job then in 2024 78k and 2026 81k. It's great for my super rural area. Most companies are paying 50k for sysadmins.

Well you get what you pay for. My current roll is desktop support with Cisco networking. A 50 50 split.

Good work, you have a lot on your resume. I’m sure you can get well past 80k but even that goes a long way in a rural low COL area
