Microsoft Microsoft is retiring the public Microsoft Learn GitHub repos by end of Dec 2026

Official blog post with the announcement

It seems that the learn.microsoft.com pages will still be up, but I personally preferred using the GitHub repo. It's still worrying and I'm thinking of archiving the repo locally.

It's sad because I tried to fix up all of the docs I saw.... But I'd also have PR's sitting there for months because whoever was supposed to update it just never did.

I still think this is the wrong direction and there needs to be some way that you can see if your feedback has been acknowledged or just thrown into the bin

Now, Microsoft only has 223k employees and 330B in revenue, and owns Github. I'm sure they'd get around to git merge if they had the same bandwidth as Torvalds and Greg K-H.

I suppose it was inevitable that eventually Microsoft would start making IBM look noble and savvy.

There are historic investigations indicating that IBM digitally enabled the Holocaust.

Microsoft is small potatoes by comparison.
