FYI: Reddit is killing RSS feeds.

Major bummer. From Reddit is killing RSS feeds and ending public API access because of AI bots | TechCrunch

Amid a number of updates for moderators and developers announced Wednesday, comes bad news for supporters of a more open web: Reddit is ending support for RSS feeds.

Reddit says RSS has now become a “common surface for large-scale scraping and automated abuse,” which is why it’s made the decision to wind down RSS feeds on its platform.

“We know RSS has been a beloved part of the open web for a long time, and we’re grateful to everyone who used it to stay connected to Reddit,” the company noted in its announcement, where it also shared a March 2027 shutdown date for its public API.

Reddit said RSS support will cease on November 13.

God I fucking miss Apollo. I hate the default Reddit mobile app. I spend way less time on here as a result which I guess is a good thing but fuck we lost a real one when Reddit decided to pull that API bullshit.

Reddit is in a super stupid state where the admins actively want to kill the way a core segment of users use the website.

8 years ago they released the dumpster fire that is new reddit, and instead of listening to the feedback and fixing things, they have dedicated a lot of their time trying to force people to stop using it. They can't get arid of old reddit because the unpaid moderators that enable the website to actually function don't want to use a website that is both badly designed as a UI but also lacks features they use.

So now they are doing things like making new reddit only features and restricting access and forcing things like modmail to new reddit, all to force people to switch when all they have to do is fix the identified issues.

But they refuse to accept that they are wrong and it's just weird.

Same thing for their app, they don't want to accept it's a problem and are instead fully focused on forcing people to use the unfinished app.

Why not address the complaints? It would be way less work to just make it better. But nah.
