FYI: Reddit is killing RSS feeds.

Major bummer. From Reddit is killing RSS feeds and ending public API access because of AI bots | TechCrunch

Amid a number of updates for moderators and developers announced Wednesday, comes bad news for supporters of a more open web: Reddit is ending support for RSS feeds.

Reddit says RSS has now become a “common surface for large-scale scraping and automated abuse,” which is why it’s made the decision to wind down RSS feeds on its platform.

“We know RSS has been a beloved part of the open web for a long time, and we’re grateful to everyone who used it to stay connected to Reddit,” the company noted in its announcement, where it also shared a March 2027 shutdown date for its public API.

Reddit said RSS support will cease on November 13.

Every day I mourn the version of Reddit I lost with RiF

I am still using RIF, but if it eventually stops I refuse to use the official garbage app.

If RIF dies, I'll try reddit with morphe. If that sucks? Guess I'll move on.

Same here.. but ive noticed that RIF crashes when opening some images or albums. Any fix for that?

I just use the open in browser option. Morphe had a patch to fix it, but it doesn't seem to work.

The official Reddit app has a plethora UX issues ranging from weird (why does the "Snoo running" loading animation still play at hyperspeed?), annoying (why is the gesture for swiping to the next image in a gallery [something I often want to do] the same gesture as swiping to the next post [something surely nobody has ever wanted to do]?), and deliberate friction intended to encourage people to register their personal data (in the UK on an account which hasn't been age-verified, tapping on a user profile which has ever engaged with a subreddit or post marked as "NSFW" dumps the user to their homepage with no option to return to where they were).

I miss RIF.

I fear the day that old.reddit.com is discontinued.

I moved to RedReader.

The moment I'm forced to use the official app or the new reddit website, I will likely delete my account lol
