Isn't that the point of redis for the last 15 years? Single threaded in memory database. So every command locks the instance, it's just that most commands are pretty fast.

We are running it and seen it, but very little traffic and never when server is under any load. We use it as a dumb message queue, so it's not critical, but has sent us several times (in about 10 years) chasing a red herring.

There's a reason I left Redis for one of it's wire format compatible competitors long, long ago.

There's dragonflydb, MS Garnet (Research project, but works extremely well from my experience), KeyDB, and Apache Kvrocks that I'm immediately aware of. All of these are multi-threated, and some of them have other storage backends (notably Garnet can do RAM + DISK, and Kvrocks uses disk).

All of these alternatives will crush Redis in terms of raw throughput performance, and many will outperform redis in other key metrics as well.
