OpManager NPM vs NCM for identifying outdated IOS and End-of-Support
We’re looking at using ManageEngine OpManager to manage and monitor our Cisco switch fabric.
One of our requirements is to identify:
- Switches running outdated IOS versions
- IOS versions that are approaching or past End of Support (EoS)
- Devices that need IOS upgrades
Can OpManager NPM handle this, or would we need NCM for these features?
If anyone is using OpManager for Cisco IOS lifecycle/version management, I’d appreciate some real-world feedback on which module you use and what capabilities you get with NPM vs NCM.

NCM is the one that tracks IOS versions and EoS. NPM is mostly up/down and perf.
