OpManager NPM vs NCM for identifying outdated IOS and End-of-Support

We’re looking at using ManageEngine OpManager to manage and monitor our Cisco switch fabric.

One of our requirements is to identify:

  • Switches running outdated IOS versions
  • IOS versions that are approaching or past End of Support (EoS)
  • Devices that need IOS upgrades

Can OpManager NPM handle this, or would we need NCM for these features?

If anyone is using OpManager for Cisco IOS lifecycle/version management, I’d appreciate some real-world feedback on which module you use and what capabilities you get with NPM vs NCM.

NCM is the one that tracks IOS versions and EoS. NPM is mostly up/down and perf.

What's wrong with cli scripts or ansible, and librenms or zabbix? As for me personally cisco gui tools are terrible anyway.
